Our 2021 advocacy report – Great Ideas for the Gold Coast, sets out a range of ideas to start these conversations about our City’s future and hopefully and spark ideas that will shape the liveability and long-term success of our City.
In 2017, we launched the first edition of Great Ideas for the Gold Coast, and since then, the Gold Coast has rapidly grown and matured into a recognised world-class regional City. In our first advocacy report, we ear-marked some projects and ideas for the Gold Coast that would drive the growth of our City, some of which have been successfully realised.
Great Ideas for the Gold Coast is an important driving force behind our organisation and will provide a framework for our advocacy, events, thought leadership and media activities. Our committee hopes this thought-provoking strategy will stimulate high-quality and mature public debate across the established Gold Coast business community and among up-and-coming leaders to position our City for future success.
Our committee would like to thank our project partner Civity. Civity is a new boutique town planning firm, founded with the desire to be distinctly different to more traditional consulting firm. Civity brings a unique perspective, working with a number of private and public sector organisations across Queensland. We are proud to work with a local Gold Coast start-up and thank the Civity team for their work on delivering this critical project.
This means continuing to celebrate our success, sending clear and consistent messages about our economy and building our global profile as a place where small businesses and entrepreneurs flourish and grow
We need to be ambitious, audacious and deliberate in our future growth story, ensuring we respect the values that have made the Gold Coast what it is today, while keeping ahead of emerging trends and building a strong and sustainable platform for future generations
Technology is rapidly changing the way in which we live and work and we believe the Gold Coast needs to be at the forefront of that evolution, through new manufacturing technologies, transport solutions or tourism and leisure opportunities
